// how it works

How it works

  1. Clarify your goal

    Pick your mode — Work for deliverables, Design for editable visuals, Code for a project — and the model you will connect (local vLLM for a fully private loop, or an OpenAI-compatible endpoint).

  2. Get Pinvou Agent

    Download a preview release package for your OS, or clone the repo recursively for source.

  3. Install and configure

    From source: npm ci in pinvou3-app, then run the dev script. In the app, save your model configuration (templates cover local vLLM, DeepSeek, Kimi, Qwen, OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini and more).

  4. Run your first task

    Start a session, attach a document or open a project, and ask for a deliverable — then find the produced files collected in the artifact panel.

// features

Why people love it

From conversation to deliverables

A multi-session workspace where messages, tool calls and artifacts persist per session, with an artifact panel that collects every file the agent creates or edits.

Editable design mode

Create posters and data visualizations from prompts, then select elements directly and adjust copy, fonts, colors, dimensions and layout — or keep iterating by description.

Coding agents over ACP

Use Codex, Claude Code or Kimi in a real project or isolated temp workspace, with plans, tool steps, permission requests and file changes surfaced; sessions survive restarts.

Local knowledge and memory

A local knowledge base with full-text and vector retrieval (attach multiple collections per chat, with provenance), a memory center with explicit candidate review, and a persona card pool.

Unified tool store

Local MCP servers, remote MCP servers, CLI tools and API connectors in one store, with OAuth/SSO where supported and ready-made connectors (Feishu/Lark, DingTalk, WeCom, Tencent Meeting, Obsidian and more).

Daily-operation features

Plan/YOLO modes, a zero-tool auxiliary side chat per task, local voice input, centralized GPU/memory/disk/model monitoring, and QR-code remote control from your phone.

  2. Install app dependencies

    Install the desktop app's npm dependencies.

    cd pinvou3-app
    npm ci
  3. Run in dev mode

Questions, answered

Who maintains Pinvou Agent?

The Pinvou team and contributors maintain it; the site is pinvou.com and support is via GitHub Issues/Discussions.

Is it free?

Yes, MIT-licensed. Model usage costs depend on the endpoint you connect; a local vLLM model with local tools stays fully local.

Does it need a paid API key?

Only if you connect a paid cloud endpoint. Built-in templates include many providers, and local vLLM needs no external key.

How does it compare to Moltis?

Moltis is a headless personal agent server you reach through chat channels. Pinvou is a desktop workspace app where work, design and coding agents share one visual workspace and produce artifacts.

How do I get started?

Install a release preview for your OS (or run from source with run-dev.sh), add a model in settings, and start a Work, Design or Code session.
