Yes — the code is open source under the GPL-3.0 license. You can use, modify and redistribute it under that license's terms.
No paid API key is required in the default local setup — you run a local model. An optional API mode exists if you want stronger hosted models, using your own key.
Hosted agents are stronger out of the box but charge subscriptions and process your data remotely; AgenticSeek is GPL-3.0, local and free — limited mainly by your hardware and local model quality.
